We are seeking an innovative and creative Web Developer to provide immediate impact developing a modeling and simulation platform that will significantly improve the TSA’s security screening mission capabilities and performance. As a web developer, you will work in a team environment, while collaborating with world renowned scientists, to integrate x-ray scanning system simulation software, 3D object generators, algorithms, controlling models and a dashboard to produce a virtual test and evaluation platform. You will design, develop and test the platform web interfaces for user interaction and database manipulation. Activities include definition, design, development, integration, and test of web interface for this new platform system. Designing and developing using server side web technologies such as ASP.Net, Node.js, Express.js, or Flask; 3D graphics (WebGL, OpenGL, ITK, VTK, Inventor), client-side web applications using framework such as Angular, Vue.js, or React.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, computer science, computational science, mathematics or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Core web technologies (HTML5, CSS)
  • Web frameworks; for example Angular, Vue.js, or React
  • Client-side development using for example JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Server side web technologies; for example ASP.Net, Node.js, Express.js, or Flask
  • Unit test frameworks; for example xUnit or MSTest
  • Defining and designing software functionality
  • Distributed version control system; for example Git or Mercurial
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to successfully pass through the Department of Homeland Security / Transportation Security Administration’s (DHS / TSA) vetting process

Desired Qualifications

  • Client-side web application state management with for example ngrx/store, Vuex, or Redux
  • Client-side 3D display using WebGL
  • CSS pre-processors such as Less or Sass
  • Module bundler; for example Webpack, Rollup, or Parcel
  • Web service development and integration
  • Integration with databases
  • Experience with 3D graphics; for example WebGL, OpenGL, ITK, VTK, Inventor including volumetric (voxel-based) rendering
  • Experience with machine learning toolkits / libraries; for example TensorFlow, Microsoft Cognitive Toolkit
  • Experience with PDF generation; for example iText, or Amyuni
  • Experience developing modeling and simulation software
  • Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
