Join the Nascent Technology Center—a division of Engility dedicated to inventing, designing, developing, and deploying solutions to the government’s hardest problems. This position works with the Nascent AI and Nascent Engineering teams, making concrete contributions to sophisticated software, including Engility’s Synthetic AnalystTM and MetaSiftTM platforms. Interns will learn and practice techniques from the leading edge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, augmented reality, and advanced analytics while developing rigorous programming and software engineering skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing a technical degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, physical or life sciences, or related field, having completed one year of education in that field
  • Demonstrated ability to take academic or commercial models and concepts (including from other fields) and translate them into math or code to solve problems
  • Requires programming skills in Python or Java
  • Strong initiative, interpersonal skills, work ethic, and interest in contributing to US national security

Desired Qualifications

  • Skill in additional programming languages, particularly C++ or C# for hardware (wearables) integration
  • Familiarity with Python packages related to AI and advanced computing, such as TensorFlow, Keras, Caffe, Numba, Pandas, OpenCV, and Sklearn
  • Familiarity with Agile and software development methodologies
  • Familiarity with web technologies and front-end design principles OR familiarity with database technologies and data modeling
  • Familiarity with version control technologies such as Git
  • U.S. Citizen who is interested in and willing and able to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance as well as pass a polygraph to ultimately secure a position in National Security is highly desired
