Engility is seeking a Network Engineer to join our team in our Chantilly, VA office. As part of the Enterprise Architecture team, the ideal candidate shall be responsible for helping with the design, build, and deliver highly available networks.  The role works closely with Infrastructure & Application Operations, Security, and other areas of the organization to help transform our current Enterprise IT landscape by introducing and testing new hardware or network concepts.   This role supports Development while partnering with business to:


  • Provide 3rd level technical support for complex production systems and services
  • Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
  • Implement/upgrade network hardware and software components as required.
  • Perform site-surveys and site audits.
  • Deployment of both LAN and WLAN infrastructure
  • Apply strong understanding of modern service provider TCP/IP data networks using standards and technologies including but not limited to: MPLS, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP4, STP, QOS, 802.1q, Telco transport systems.
  • Plan and monitor the execution of scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours, participating as necessary.
  • Apply appropriate architecture for wireless, video, voice and emerging technologies

Required Qualifications

  • Candidate must be U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of Networking with hands-on experience:
    • Experience with implementation and support of MPLS, Metro Ethernet networks, Metropolitan LANs and VPLS
    • Multi-vendor infrastructure platforms including Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, application delivery controllers, and WAN accelerators
    • Multi-vendor routing e.g. EIGRP, IGRP, OSPF, BGP, HSRP, VRRP, route redistribution etc., and switching e.g. VLAN implementation, STP, VTP, access lists, L3 switching
    • Hands-on experience with Checkpoint, Cisco ASA Firewalls, Juniper, and Palo Alto firewalls.
    • Experience with Cisco VoIP technologies
  • Ability to work in face paced, collaborative distributed environment
  • Managing Aruba wireless networks with ClearPass and Air Watch as well as IAP and Campus configurations
  • Experience of designing, deploying, and maintain WLAN infrastructure
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative distributed environment

Desired Qualifications

  • CCNA or CCNP Certification
  • Experience operating compliant production systems (PCI, SOCI Type II, ISO 27001)
