The Engility Systems Engineering Support Contract (SESP) team supporting DHS CWMD (Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction) for Requirements, Architecture and Capabilities is in immediate need of a Requirements Engineer.  This individual will identify, control and maintain operational requirements in the DOORS tool.  A successful Requirements Engineer will possess knowledge and experience with threat (nuclear, biological, or chemical) detection systems and/or DHS Component operations. 

  • Technical Writing – write systems engineering documents (MNS, ORD, CONOPS, etc.) using clear and concise language, follow and update templates for said documents.  Adjudicate review comments from peers and from the customer.
  • Requirements Management – Manage requirements for programs and projects.  Properly scope and link requirements for proper system definition.  Guide requirements through development processes.
  • Systems Engineering – Manage program artifacts (including documents and requirements, but also presentations, memos, minutes, etc.) through multi-stage development programs.
  • Capability Gap Management – Manage, track, and advocate for a portfolio of related CWMD capability gaps from initial identification through the requirements development process and resulting acquisition and/or non-material solution processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, or Math
  • 2+ years’ relevant experience with requirements development in DHS or DoD
  • Current Secret clearance
  • Experience developing MNS, ORD and CONOPS documents

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in Science, Engineering or Math
  • Current Secret clearance
  • Experience working with DHS/DoD customers in an acquisition environment
  • Experience with Chem/Bio threats
  • Experience with Rad/Nuc threats
  • Experience with requirements database tools to develop and manage requirements, perform traces, and provide products to support members of a system development team
