Description

The Engility Learning and Development Team provides a number career enhancing learning solutions to our internal customers. We are looking for an experienced and engaging instructor led training facilitator and instructional designer who will not only lead classroom instruction, but also use their creativity, innovation and knowledge of adult learning concepts to develop, enhance and continually improve our classroom and blended programs.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct seminars, workshops and classroom-based training sessions, both live and virtual
  • Design, create and manage engaging learning and development solutions to meet classroom-based learning needs and self-study options.
  • Ability to convert instructional materials (storyboards, design documents, focus group results) into needed learning assets.
  • Work closely with the overall Talent Management team and HR COEs to evaluate and support the needs of the business and create tools and resources that to increase leadership and individual effectiveness.
  • Provides on-going cyclical complex program management for an initiative(s) that includes program management, design, implementation, change management, communications, and evaluation.
  • Partner with LMS administrator to schedule programs and keep attendance and other records.
  • Conduct evaluations to identify and address areas of improvement.
  • Manage post-learning assessments/evaluations to measure learning effectiveness and maintain L&D metrics. 
  • Maintain a high level of energy and enthusiasm when facilitating classes with the goal of inspiring and keeping the audience engaged.
  • Keep current with changes in the field of training and development, and studies and becomes proficient at new training theories and techniques.
  • Provide recommendations around innovative concepts and social learning techniques to train individuals at all levels.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree in Human Resources Development, Training, or related field; comparable military service; or 6-9 years of relevant experience in learning and training. Collegiate or K-12 experience will not be considered.
  • 3 – 5 years of corporate experience in the following areas:
    • Instructional Systems Design (ISD) with application of adult learning theory;
    • Creating and presenting classroom-based learning to large audiences, in-person and virtually;
    • Creating and delivering blended learning programs;
    • Applying the Kirkpatrick Model of learning evaluation;
    • Performance consulting to analyze learning needs. 
  • Knowledge of learning management systems (LMS), specifically around creating and managing enrollments in a coporate environment.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel and Word. 
  • Advanced experience with web-based meeting software, such as Adobe Connect.
  • Attention to detail for the purpose of managing and controlling training materials as well as for ensuring accuracy of needs assessments and requirements gathering.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an engaging presence. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Excellent instructor led training and facilitation, questioning, and feedback/coaching skills in a corporate environment.
  • Adapt quickly to changing needs and priorities. Proven experience managing multiple competing priorities within an aggressive timeline.
  • Strong customer service skills for working with employees at all levels within the organization.
  • Creative, inquisitive and coachable; ability to take constructive feedback.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to travel periodically.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in the government contracting industry
  • Experience with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluation) and/or Successive Approximation Model (SAM) to develop Instructor-Led learning programs.
  • Previous team management and leadership experience.
