Successful candidate has the following duties, which include but are not limited to:

  • Create and maintain project schedules for a number of projects within the project organization. 
  • Using Microsoft Project (MS Project) and drawing on a thorough understanding of scheduling, project management and EVM techniques, the Project Scheduler creates, manages, maintains and reports status of schedules that effectively demonstrate project progress. 
  • Schedules must be regularly updated to meet reporting deadlines with inputs gathered from a number of sources.
  • The Scheduler will provide a deep understanding of accepted scheduling techniques using MS Project and advanced MS Project tools such as macros, extracts, imports and links to external data sources. 
  • In addition, the Project Scheduler will work with team leads and/or functional and technical experts to identify and specify key milestones and project deliverables. 
  • The Project Scheduler will monitor project status, providing weekly status, including schedule variances, to the Program Office and participate in program reviews as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have DOD Interim Secret security clearance or higher. 
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Project, preferably Microsoft Project Enterprise. 
  • Must be able to manage multiple, complex project schedules simultaneously. 
  • Familiarity with advanced functions of Microsoft Project such as macro development, import/ export techniques and automated updates through external files/tools is required.
  • Experience and knowledge of Project Management methodologies is expected.
  • Minimum two years experience as a project scheduler.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (three to five years related experience with significant training in project scheduling).


Desired Qualifications

  • Able to work amicably and effectively with subject matter experts and other technical personnel to resolve scheduling conflicts and effectively research and resolve data conflicts.
  • Able to coordinate with team leads and/or technical and functional experts to ensure key milestones and dependencies are properly identified and specified.
  • Able to work efficiently within deadlines to ensure accurate and comprehensive reports including schedule variances are provided within the timeframe needed.
