Description

The Hostage Negotiator Instructor will be part of a training team responsible for preparing National Police of Ukraine instructors to conduct training for future management and instructors of the rapid response units and support personnel responding to hostage situations. The Project Team in Kyiv is responsible for preparing the new Department of Patrol Police to begin sole responsibility for SWAT units across Ukraine as well as operating in the communities near the war-zone in the East of Ukraine.

 

The primary responsibilities for the Hostage Negotiation Instructors are the following:

  • Prepare course materials and lectures on the topics of initial law enforcement response to hostage situations, the conduct of negotiations with hostage-takers, and the decision-process for conducting hostage rescues.
  • Deliver the prepared lectures as part of a training team preparing patrol SWAT units.
  • Mentor graduates as they begin their own courses to prepare first-line officers in the National Police of Ukraine and begin operating as functioning SWAT units responding to potential hostage situations

Required Qualifications

  • 20 years of law enforcement experience
  • Experience delivering training in hostage negotiation to multiple law enforcement agencies
  • Associates degree
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DOJ issued Public Trust clearance which requires US citizenship per the customer contract requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • Overseas experience is a plus.
  • Language skills are a plus
