Talent Acquisition is a strategic partner in Engility’s solution, performance and results to our customers. The Talent Acquisition Director, Defense and Security Group, will lead a team that exceeds key financial metrics, and achieves growth for the present and into the future. The Talent Acquisition Director is responsible for partnering with key stakeholders to ensure that Talent Acquisition strategies align to program/capture strategies as well as to Engility’s ongoing business objectives. This position is located in Chantilly, VA and reports to the Vice President of Talent Acquisition.

Position responsibilities:

  • Provide Talent Acquisition expertise to Defense and Security Group leaders to include PMs, Division Directors and Group Executives.
  • Partner with Group leaders, Talent Management, and recruiters to meet strategic objectives around acquiring and retaining top talent; providing guidance and expertise on:
    • Proactive Talent Acquisition strategies and staffing plans
    • Ensuring requisitions represent the requirements needed to recruit and attract the right talent
    • Optimizing the candidate experience
  • Attend Group leadership meetings, to include participation in key capture meetings, as applicable.
  • Analyze market data, workforce planning and business strategy to develop comprehensive talent solutions specific to the organization.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the recruiting team, taking deliberate actions that promote and enhance recruiter engagement and connection to the Talent Acquisition team and Engility.
  • Actively engage and support redeployment efforts, as applicable.
  • Assist the team in building/developing recruiting strategies to proactively attract and retain the best and brightest talent for all openings.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition peers, as necessary, to provide surge support.
  • Build and sustain a quality relationship with the internal customers.
  • Provide analysis on recruiting metrics and data.
  • Understand and monitor recruiter performance against metrics.
  • Actively participate and contribute to process improvement strategies and projects within the recruiting team.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the recruitment process in the organization.
  • Accurately monitor applicant tracking system/reports to ensure focus and priorities are maintained.
  • Comply with government, Human Resources laws, policies and procedures as well as Talent Acquisition processes as defined by the corporation.
  • Communicate new and changing business practices/policies to ensure process understanding and compliance.
    • Establish routine communications with team to keep them abreast of the business, ensuring that the Group recruiting team is cohesive in their understanding of the priorities.
    • Ensure that all corporate driven initiatives and/or policies that directly impact the recruitment of candidates are communicated and understood.
    • Communicate regularly with leadership providing feedback on Engility’s ability to attract the right talent.
  • Manage overall budget and suggest opportunities for process efficiency while delivering results and ensuring great candidate experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least ten years of experience in Talent Acquisition in roles of increasing responsibility.
  • A minimum of three years of experience building and managing a team of high performing recruiters.
  • Ability to collaborate across all HR disciplines to create seamless solutions for the internal customer.
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, coaching, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen coupled with innovative thinking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to actively listen, read audiences, and quickly identify key issues and areas of need.
  • Must be able to thrive in a highly interactive team environment and possess highly effective interpersonal, communication, collaborative, and leadership skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure, multi-task, and deliver on multiple priorities.
  • Adept at identifying and implementing the strategies that focus on how we can best attract new talent.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working on proposal teams 
  • Prior experience in highly compliance driven, regulated environments
  • Basic understanding of contract types (FFP / LOE / Cost Plus, etc.)
  • Experience working with cleared talent communities within the Defense communities.
