Engility is looking for a well-qualified Network Engineer with a strong routing and switching background to join an exciting program in Northern Virginia.  The desired candidate will be joining a small team of dedicated network engineers, must be self-starters and be able to solve complex problems with minimal supervision.


Duties include designing, implementing and maintaining national security systems as well as serving as a trusted advisor for the customer.  Occasional travel (less than 10%) is required.

Required Qualifications

  • An active Top Secret clearance with access to sensitive compartmented information (TS/SCI)
  • The ability to complete a counter-intelligence scope polygraph (CSP) post hire
  • The Cisco Certified Entry-level Network Technician (CCENT) certification
  • The CompTIA Security+ CE or other certification that would enable the candidate to qualify as an Information Assurance Technician Level II (IAT Level II) in accordance with DoD 8570.01M
  • 6-10 years of experience in IT
  • 3 years of experience in network engineering

Desired Qualifications

  • Having completed a counter-intelligence scope polygraph within the last five (5) years;
  • 3 or more years of demonstrated knowledge of network topologies, routers and switches, network protocols, firewalls, networking security solutions, network/systems monitoring tools, network modeling and simulation;
  • Experience with security devices such as TACLANEs, BorderGuards, and Cisco ASA Firewalls;
  • The Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification;
  • The Cisco Certified Network Associate – Security (CCNA-Security) certification;
  • Understanding of Nexus series switches and NX-OS;
  • Experience with IPV4, EIGRP, GRE, IPSEC, ACLs, SNMP, TACACs, DHCP, VLANs, STP, and QoS 
  • Familiarity with Cisco images, hardware installation, and upgrades. Cisco switch, router, and firewall configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visio and managing network diagrams
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
