About Engility

Engility’s Naval Aviation teams are growing in Cyber Security and Anti-Tamper areas. We need your help as a Senior Systems and Cyber Security Engineer to meet our customers’ needs in support of the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR).

In this role you will develop and apply methods, theories and research techniques in the areas of aviation system cyber resiliency, system access points, Cyber-EW convergence, Cyber test and evaluation, warning system techniques, Cyber fault, risk and threat assessment methodologies, and resilient network concepts to existing and new business. You will plan, conduct, and lead technical projects or phases of highly specialized projects. You will lead and coordinate the efforts of a technical team, that you will help build, to add Cyber Security and Anti-Tamper expertise to work being done on Naval Aviation weapon systems and support systems.

Description

The Senior Systems Engineer/Cyber Security Engineer will:

 

  • Advise the government customer on coordinating Cyber-EW convergent capabilities and risk/benefit assessment methodologies within the mission kill chain.
  • Provide cybersecurity solutions and techniques for aircraft and aviation support systems (i.e., aviation maintenance, logistics, ALRE, data loader, common munitions BIT reprogramming equipment (CMBRE), removable media, and other temporal connections).
  • Evaluate the impact and benefit to NAVAIR Weapon Systems of technologies such as Real-time Operating System (RTOS) malware/command and control (C2) detection, protection, response and recovery; non-destructive/disruptive inspection; dynamic reconfiguration/re-host/compilation.
  • Provide recommended cyber test capabilities for Weapon Systems and support cyber test and evaluation requirements and provide input to required documentation (TEMP, test plans, etc.).
  • Engineer cyber sensor placement/instrumentation of critical weapon system components such as power plants, hydraulics, electrical power, mission computers, navigation systems, etc.
  • Provide engineering, cyber security, and test and evaluation support in the areas of air vehicle cyber security, anti-tamper, innovative science and technology research, systems engineering, architecture, design, development, integration, test, experimentation, implementation and support. 
  • Direct and participate in all phases of aircraft system development with emphasis on Cyber planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing and acceptance phases (Independent Validation & Verification [IV&V] and Developmental Test & Evaluation [DT&E]).

Required Qualifications

  • Must have knowledge and demonstrated understanding of DoD policies governing Cyber Engineering/Security.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Three or more years of related experience specific to aviation Cyber Security, Cyber Systems Engineering, Electronic Warfare (EW), Radio Frequency (RF) Engineering, and/or Cyber Technology Development. 
  • A current Secret ot Top Secret security clearance is required. (Interim OK.)

Desired Qualifications

  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office software products, databases and the modules within Navy ERP/SAP.
  • NAVAIR program office/competency or IPT experience
  • Prior work on Test & Evaluation or IV&V
  • Aviation/aircrew and recent operational experience related to Cyber/EW.
  • Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance eligible.
  • Defense Acquisition University (DAWIA) training/certification
