Description

Engility is the sole provider of Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) services to the NASA IV&V Program located in Fairmont, West Virginia. Within the NASA IV&V Program, this position will be in the Independent Verification & Validation Office (IVVO), operating within IV&V project teams. The IVVO project teams are responsible for providing cost effective software assurance for NASA’s most critical missions.  This position provides a unique opportunity to work with the project leads and team members of these NASA IV&V projects and experience the techniques being used to analyze that software. The PLA will provide administrative support that will lead to process improvements and enhanced return on investment for analysis tasks by supporting the project management functions normally worked by the Project Lead.

This position offers the opportunity to eventually move into an IV&V analyst position, or other program positions, depending on the interests and demonstrated capabilities of the successful candidate.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating coordination of actions, tasks, and meetings through MS Project and other project management tools across one or more project teams
  • Review, understand and brief project financial and schedule performance
  • Support program Metrics and QA functions with data calls, and support other data calls as tasked
  • Providing Knowledge transfer functions for the IV&V project teams
  • Providing content/updating the various project teams’ interfaces
  • Provide coordination, support and assist in the development of monthly NASA IV&V deliverables
  • If requested by NASA, provide briefings to various levels of NASA management on status and schedule
  • Assist in clearly articulating value-added by the project team’s analysis activities
  • Recognize and investigate areas of continuous improvement
  • Perform Administrative duties to include:
    • Maintenance of IV&V Schedules
    • Submitting Badging Requests
    • Handling requests for seating/phones/computers
    • Handling Conference Room Reservations
    • Providing Maintenance/Support for Laptops
    • Arranging for required training
    • Arranging for group tours/luncheons for visitors
    • Compiling inputs to Weekly Reports
    • Attending high level meetings and reporting back to Project Lead
  • Facilitating access to developer repositories and tools

Required Qualifications

  • Possess a BA or BS and 0-2 years of related experience
  • Be able to successfully pass a NASA Background Investigation for access to NASA and IV&V program data
  • Be a highly organized individual who can operate within a highly technical and schedule driven environment
  • Quality driven, able to articulate value of work completed by team members
  • Is an excellent verbal and written communicator
  • Maintains excellent rapport with all internal and external customers
  • Experience with full Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to understand project schedules and assess performance against those schedules

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with MS Project
  • Familiarity with JIRA Software or similar issue and tracking programs
  • Familiarity with Confluence or other Team Collaboration Software
  • Knowledgeable of scripting languages such as VBA, PERL or JavaScript
  • Familiarity with some programming languages such as Java, C, C++ or the software development lifecycle
