Engility is seeking a Systems Administrator who shall perform as a member of a team to provide technical and software support on behalf of the Engineering Group by performing system administrative tasks including operating a 2D image capture system, operating a render farm, producing 3D models using a commercial system, administering internal storage, and maintaining equipment. The Systems Administrator will work as part of a team to integrate system output into other workflows and should be able to plan, diagram and explain the routing of output to end users. The tasks for the Support Systems Engineer include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Learn, understand and execute vendor proprietary software to capture images of a subject and transfer those images to a 3D Rendering server, clearing system storage between projects
  • Execute vendor software to transform 2D images into a 3D model
  • Perform basic trouble shooting and inspection of resulting 3D models
  • Perform system administrator functions on all hardware (Windows 7 Pro, Windows 10, Linux)
  • Troubleshoot network and hardware errors (e.g. Ethernet, Vendor proprietary network, Digital Cameras), physically maintain equipment and perform calibration
  • Perform operating system patches and upgrades; apply vendor patches and software upgrades
  • Perform system backup and recovery, 2D image and 3D model storage and retrieval
  • Serve as systems administrator and manage user accounts and permissions
  • Perform captured image file transfer (USB Drive/CD/DVD) and reference copy management (cataloging, records management), maintaining a log of how and to whom models were given
  • Possess strong engineering troubleshooting skills
  • Understand and implement the customer security policy
  • Experience with and able to support the customer A&A process
  • Create/maintain system operator and administration documentation
  • Define external dependencies and system support requirements
  • Maintain a consolidated schedule of groups requesting an imaging session
  • Coordinate, communicate and deconflict based on multiple customers’ priority items;
  • Attend program meetings and provide briefings, meeting reports, lessons learned, and after action reports
  • Participate in technical reviews, recommending/implementing appropriate corrective action to resolve technical and non-technical issues
  • Possess solid organizational and communication skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Requires five plus years of experience
  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent scientific or technical discipline.  4 additional years of experience can be substituted in lieu of degree. 
  • Familiarity with Windows 7 Pro, Windows 10, Ubuntu Linux
  • Experience in one or more of Python, PHP, BASH
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, SSH, FTP
  • Familiarity with HTML or XML
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling tools
