Engility is seeking an experienced professional to join the Space Systems Group (SSG). SSG provides specialized program management, engineering, analysis and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. We support the generation after next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air and on the ground.


SSG has an opening for a Systems Engineer to provide on-site, in-plant SETA representative systems engineering and technical advisory services to a research and development (R&D) customer. The customer is developing the next-generation of spacecraft architectures, hardware and software solutions for the Government. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate timely and effective communication of technical and programmatic issues with the Government program office
  • Attend and participate in Contractor's daily/weekly meetings in plant facility, monthly status meetings, daily/weekly Government meetings, and integrated product team (IPT) reviews held by prime contractors and subcontractors
  • Participate in subcontractor reviews with prime contractor
  • Peer review development of Government requests for proposals and technical evaluations
  • Review engineering change proposals
  • Serve as a proposal evaluation team member as required
  • Review and provide comments on contractor invoices
  • Monitor non-program Contractor programs to assess potential impacts to the program including possible industrial base impacts
  • Assess changes in prime contractor’s Corporate policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in engineering, science, related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environment
  • At least 5 years of experience in space systems design and/or development
  • Experience with schedule, technical and risk aspects of space system programs
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Effective interpersonal skills and strong briefing and writing skills
  • Aptitude for on-site Systems Engineering and Technical Advisor (SETA) work
  • Active TS/SC

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in engineering, science, or related discipline
  • Experience with IC or DoD R&D organizations
  • At least 5 years of experience in space systems manufacturing, integration, and testing
