Supports the Electronic Maintenance Logbook (EML) and R&M Tasking, focused on EML Database Design, Ship Installs, Fleet Training, Data Analysis, and Archiving
Review and understand the existing Fleet Maintenance operations, processes, and documentation.
Review and understand the EML and Microsoft Access databases.
Coordinate ship trips to perform installation and training on the ships.
Install the MS Access EML databases on the ship shared drive.
Train Work Center Supervisors, Quality Assurance, Chiefs and Maintenance Officers on proper populating, archiving, and transmitting of EML.
Assist in the maintaining of the EML. Perform upload and downloads of EML to and from all CVNs and shore based Test Sites.
Perform trouble shooting help for shipboard personnel in maintaining installed EMLs.
Review and scrub all maintenance data received from the monthly EML submissions from all CVNs.
Back up monthly submission on external hard drives and Sharepoint EML site.
Provide technical support for all SLMP and Reliability engineers in the understanding of actual shipboard operations and processes.
Secret clearance or Interim Secret in good standing.
Education: Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
Experience: This senior level position requires 5 years of experience in engineering support work including demonstrated knowledge and understanding of pertinent principles, methods and techniques related to integrated software or hardware systems. This includes support for such functions as Configuration Management, Quality Assurance, Test and Evaluation, System Administration, and infrastructure. For specific systems this can include hands-on application of software support tasks or of electrical, electronic, or mechanical support tasks. The work may be done in an engineering laboratory environment or in a field setting such as a land based site or aboard ship. The senior engineering technician shall have the ability to perform these tasks with minimum supervision, have the ability to lead more junior level technicians, be able to perform detailed research, correlation and interpretation of technical data, and prepare technical documents such as technical reports and briefs.
Experience on Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment and/or Aircraft Support Equipment systems is preferred.
