Description

Engility is seeking an entry level engineering professional to join the Space Systems Group (SSG).  SSG provides specialized engineering, analysis and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. We support the generation after next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air and on the ground.

 

SSG has an opening for an entry level engineer to provide customer-facing systems engineering and technical advisory services to an IC Research and Development (R&D) customer. The customer is developing the next-generation of spacecraft architectures, hardware and software solutions for the IC. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Perform initial technical and administrative assessment of all actions in order to assign and coordinate them with the appropriate subordinate groups for completion
  • Provide input to, and development and coordination of, technical responses and analyses for assigned tasks, including quality control check to support submission to higher level leadership
  • Build and demonstrate relevant technical experience and domain knowledge gained through support to the engineering organization and front office.
  • Review Intelligence Community (IC) policy documents as they pertain to the engineering activities, and provide highlights of pertinent sections to Director and other members of the technology group as appropriate
  • Coordinate planning efforts among group, division, and branch leadership teams
  • Assess group responses to actions to assure all actions an information are properly addressed and coordinated across the group
  • Assist with prioritization of work to meet deadlines utilizing available resources.  
  • Track, close, file, and archive actions initiated by both internal and external organizations
  • Work closely with other front office staff to ensure awareness of timely completion of all assigned tasks
  • Learn, demonstrate and apply understanding of customer budget and financial planning processes for program engineering activities, to support accurate response to customer actions and taskers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related discipline 
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Active TS/SCI 
  • Ability for on-site and customer-facing Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) work
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and energetic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task while providing attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Experience developing documents and briefings to effectively communicate status of activities
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications to include MS Project

Desired Qualifications

  • Graduate degree (or will graduate in 2018) in engineering, science, or a related discipline
  • 2 years Systems Engineering Experience
  • Experience supporting IC collection and processing architectures
  • Experience with budget and financial management practices
  • Knowledge of traditional and cloud-based communications and information technology solutions
  • Demonstrated program management skills in development, monitoring and reporting on integrated master schedules using Microsoft Project
  • Experience with IC R&D organizations
