Description

The Remote Sensing Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team in Aurora, CO has an immediate need for an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to support the strategic planning and tactical execution of Cyber Integration, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) activities for the Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS), Future OPIR and Environmental Monitoring Enterprise programs in support of the Space and Missile Systems Center Remote Sensing Directorate (SMC/RS).  Major duties of the position include:

Ensuring that the cybersecurity architecture and design of the customer’s systems are functional and secure with the ability to protect, detect, and respond. 

  • Recommend mitigation efforts for Cybersecurity events.
  • Overseeing system and network designs that encompass multiple computer and network devices to include those with differing data protections/classification requirements
  • Providing security engineering, integration services, technical assessments, and solutions to enable Defensive Cyberspace Operations.
  • Defines system security requirements, assesses system security architecture designs, and supports the development and sustainment of an enterprise Risk Management Framework (RMF Accreditation package through all lifecycle phases.
  • Supporting cybersecurity activities for space, ground, operations, logistics, and sustainment elements of the Remote Sensing enterprise by identifying risks, issues, and interdependencies between system elements, contracts and stakeholders
  • Developing Computer Network Defense and incident Response Tactics, Techniques and Procedures to monitor and protect the system from cyber-attacks.
  • Collaborating with prime contractors, other team contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Air Force.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Assurance, or Information Security, Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field. 
  • Current TS/SCI Clearance
  • 14+ years of strong demonstrated information assurance/Cyber Security experience.
  • Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) / Information Assurance System Architecture and Engineering (IASAE) experience.
  • Able to obtain an Information Assurance (ISSE/IASAE) Level III Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent DoD 8570.01m.
  • Experience with D), DoD 8510, ICD 503, CNSSI 1253 and NIST RMF (SP 800-53) security requirements.
  • Hands-on experience architecting Network level system monitoring capabilities and SEIM tools
  • Experience writing and delivering technical documents and briefings.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Space and Ground Command and Control mission capabilities and the ability to assess Mission Critical functions and develop Cyber defensive tactics and procedures to respond to Cyber events. 
  • Experience with Space systems, SBIRS, Environmental Monitoring systems (Weather), GPS, and ground and space system acquisition, and system engineering experience.
  • Experience in defining, developing, implementing and sustaining system accreditations for Air Force Space Command, Air Force and Department of Defense systems and networks
  • Experience with DoDD 8530.1, Computer Network Defense and CJCSM 6510.01B, Cyber Incident Handling Tactics and Technique.
  • Strong familiarity with UNIX, Linux and Windows Operating Systems and Oracle DB, CISCO, and/or Sidewinder or Juniper Firewall security configuration experience highly desirable;
  • Hands on DISA/NSA STIGs and system configuration validation and verification against documented security requirements a must.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal team player skills to enable effective working relationships with diverse and dynamic teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as organizational skill.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating with diverse personnel and dynamic teams.
