Description

Engility is seeking a talented secret cleared (or clearable) System Administrator/ Programmer experienced in Robot Operating Systems to join our team in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD!

 

In this position you will be supporting the U.S. Army Research Laboratory's Vehicle Technology Directorate (VTD). The ARL-VTD is the principal U.S. Army organization responsible for the pursuit of mobility-related science and technologies leading to advanced capabilities and improved reliability for Army air and ground vehicles.

 

In this role you will install new/ rebuild existing computer systems and software Products. You will work with higher level information security personal to maintain integrity of the local network. Provide technical support to a team of scientists as they develop new algorithms in computer vision, machine learning and robotic behavior. You will develop software using extensive libraries from Willow Garage’s Robot Operating System (ROS). Apply communication, analytical, programming and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve computing issues for the engineers and scientists in the group

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Computer System Administration or equivalent.
  • 2- 4 years of experience.
  • Proficient in Ubuntu/Linux
  • Familiarity with ROS (Robotics Operating System)
  • Experience with Python and/or Java
  • Familiarity with multi-core or GPU programming is desirable
  • Must be able to obtain a secret clearance which requires US Citizenship per the government customer contract. Can start with an interim clearance

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information System or equivalent.
  • 1- 3 years of experience.
  • Current and active Secret security clearance
  •  A+, Security + and/or Network + preferred
