Description

Mentor shall implement and operate programs, practices, and procedures for developing optimal utilization of personnel as well as design and administer programs to train all levels of personnel.
 
Develop tests and visual aids and coordinate class arrangements, conduct training classes, and develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities
 
The mentor keeps abreast of training and development research specifically learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques.
 
Develop programs and practices to identify developmental needs including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments.
 
If required, mentor may use technical experts to assist in training.
 
The mentor provides training to Afghan armorers and depot liaisons
 
The mentor shall train armorers/weapons specialists to possess the skills to independently conduct the following tasks: Repair, service, and cannibalization; weapons condition codes; weapon maintenance repair levels; weapons maintenance flow chart IAW ANA Weapon Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Decree 4.10, 12; Direct and General Support level (Depot level) maintenance of the following specific (but not limited to) weapon systems: M2, M4, M10, Mark 110, M240, M2410, M203, M24 Sniper Systems, 60MM Mortars, 81MM Mortars, M1014 Shotgun,         

Required Qualifications

  • Former Armorer (E-7 or above) or service equivalent with eight years’ experience.

 

  • Small Arms repair experience with M2, M4, M10, M110, M240, M249, M203, M24 Sniper Systems, 60MM Mortars, 81MM Mortars, and M1014 Shotgun. 

  • Shall be proficient in Microsoft Office Suitee

 

 

  • Possesses strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with peers, direct reports, and supervisors at all times.

 

  • Applicants must be able to pass CENTCOM medical, dental and other CRC-related deployment requirements at an approved CRC.  Applicants must be in possession of a current/active US tourist Passport (with further eligibility to receive – if not already in possession of – a current Afghanistan visa).  If candidate is already deployed, he/she must supply appropriate documentation satisfying these requirements along with confirmation that he/she is in physical possession of government-issued PPE to demonstrate compliance with CENTCOM deployment requirements

 

 

  • Annual recertification of CENTCOM Medical is required. 

 

  • Willing to work and live in Afghanistan and understand they can be further assigned to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government

 

  • Willingness to deploy and live on forward operating bases without regular U.S. Post/Base Exchange and Commissary facilities

 

  • Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to possess & operate a firearm in Afghanistan (AFG).

 

  • Successful completion of a psychological evaluation (initial evaluation & annual reevaluations)

 

  • Ability to complete and pass a psychological evaluation to be administered by Raytheon’s third party.

 

  • Completion of the Civilian Arming Authorization Management System process / receipt of Arming Authorization Letter

 

  • Satisfactory completion of weapons training and qualification (including initial qualification, semi-annual and annual recertification, and refresher as required) including but not limited to:
       o       Rules for the Use of Force
       o       Laws of Armed Conflict
       o       Classroom instruction on safe handling and use of firearms
       o       Live-fire qualification

 

  • Receipt of Afghan weapons permit from the Afghan Ministry of the Interior

     
     

Desired Qualifications

  • Special Operations weapon-smith preferred. 

 

  • Combat experience required, 12 months experience in Afghanistan and Special Operations experience preferred.
