Description

  • SOE RECCE/Sniper Trainer/Mentor shall TAAM SOE counterparts at various locations in Afghanistan in all aspects of conducting RECCE and sniper training IAW the respective POIs.

  • The mentor shall guidance in the administration, logistics and planning of RECCE and sniper training. 

  • The mentor will assist in POI development of any future leadership courses at SOE and ensure all approved POIs are consolidated and translated from English to Dari prior to course start dates.

Required Qualifications

  • E7-E8 Army/USMC/USN. Ten years’ service or more.

  • Graduate of a service sniper school.

  • Sniper school instructor experience preferred.

  • Shall be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Combat experience required, 12 months experience in Afghanistan and Special Operations experience preferred.

  •  Applicants must be able to pass CENTCOM medical, dental and other CRC-related deployment requirements at an approved CRC.  Applicants must be in possession of a current/active US tourist Passport (with further eligibility to receive – if not already in possession of – a current Afghanistan visa).  If candidate is already deployed, he/she must supply appropriate documentation satisfying these requirements along with confirmation that he/she is in physical possession of government-issued PPE to demonstrate compliance with CENTCOM deployment requirements. 

 

  • Willing to work and live in Afghanistan and understand they can be further assigned to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government

 

  • Willingness to work in hostile areas without a weapon

 

  • Willingness to deploy and live on forward operating bases without regular U.S. Post/Base Exchange and Commissary facilities

 

  • Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to possess & operate a firearm in Afghanistan (AFG).
  • Successful completion of a psychological evaluation (initial evaluation & annual reevaluations)
  • Ability to complete and pass a psychological evaluation to be administered by Raytheon’s third party.
  • Completion of the Civilian Arming Authorization Management System process / receipt of Arming Authorization Letter
  • Satisfactory completion of weapons training and qualification (including initial qualification, semi-annual and annual recertification, and refresher as required) including but not limited to:
    • Rules for the Use of Force
    • Laws of Armed Conflict
    • Classroom instruction on safe handling and use of firearms
    • Live-fire qualification
  • Receipt of Afghan weapons permit from the Afghan Ministry of the Interior
