Description

Engility has an opportunity for a mid-to-senior level engineer to provide System Engineering services in an operational environment. The position is contingent upon award of an ECP to add the position that will be located in Alice Springs Australia. The contract provides Systems Engineering Technical Advisory (SETA) support to the Chief/Systems Engineering Branch.  Tentative start date is October-2017.  This is a 7-month (approximate) assignment through April-2018 with the potential to be extended through April-2019. If the successful candidate is located in the CONUS, then relocation to the Site will be approximately 4 months later after completing Government Customer requirements.  Relocation assistance is provided as well as housing allowance, cost of living and other allowances for the duration of the tour.

The successful candidate will provide systems engineering technical expertise in coordination with a multi-contractor engineering team, for several complex real-time high speed data processing systems.  There will be daily coordination with Government Customer staff, our on-site team leader and many contractor personnel from several companies.  An understanding of the project life cycle is required.  Additional responsibilities include requirements review (i.e., verify “good” requirements to ensure that the contractor is building to measurable / verifiable requirements), concept of operation review, participation in preliminary and critical design reviews and contributing to various installation working groups.  The successful candidate will be responsible for witnessing tests and shepherding new systems into the facility, ensuring that they meet facility standards.  General tasks also include providing technical assistance for fact finding, studies, action item responses, long-term system planning and documentation review.
