Description

Engility is hiring an Acquisition Systems Engineer to lead the planning and execution of development efforts for PMS 515 Frigate program in San Diego, CA.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the development and fielding of FFG (X) network architecture capabilities by eliciting, analyzing, developing, and managing requirements,
  • Daily interaction with customers and supporting contractors (technical consultation, meeting coordination & facilitation, and preparation and support to technical briefings)
  • Requirements management, readiness tracking, and validation and verification of delivered capabilities.
  • Facilitating Pre-Milestone B SETR events
  • Development of strategic options for architecture
  • Support NAVSEA client with developing System of Systems (SoS) architecture for Frigate Shipbuilding Program
  • Provide engineering and design activities to support complex decision-making issues
  • Review technical and engineering drawings, provide updates, and recommend system configuration changes
  • Coordinate with NAVSEA and SPAWAR Technical Points of Contact to discuss specific design requirements and details
  • Provide analysis of alternatives, development of strategic options for architecture, acquisition strategy and implementation solutions, acquisition analysis and support (e.g., proposal evaluation).
  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate historical data and expert opinion to provide a basis for assumptions, methodologies, and estimate results
  • Translate functional and technical requirements into design concepts and provide detailed design inputs to system requirements, specifications, and drawings
  • Review system design documentation for compliance with applicable requirements, NAVSEA and SPAWAR instructions, and statutory and regulatory policies
  • Present recommendations for requirements applicability and design changes to Engility and Navy Client Leadership in the form of AoA, White Papers, and visual presentations (e.g., MS PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
  • Support development and presentation of SoS architecture recommendations to Senior Engility and Navy leadership, including at the Flag/SES level.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance 
  • 10 – 15 years’ experience providing Systems Engineering support
  • Strong Department of Defense (DoD) experience working within Acquisition Offices as Systems Engineering and Technical Assessment (SETA) and/or Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I).
  • Strong Department of Defense (DoD) Milestone Decision knowledge through Full Rate Deployment, to include all requisite Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events.

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering, Math, Computer Science or related technical discipline
  • Strong engineering background in development oversight, integration and fielding of Program of Record (POR) systems
  • Experience with networking technology (e.g., Cisco, Brocade, etc.)
  • Demonstrated expertise with conducting AOAs and providing design recommendations for Cybersecurity architectures and network designs
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with shifting work priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate recommendations orally and in writing to Senior Leadership to summarize and effectively communicate information and summarize data into reports for project staff and leadership

Desired Qualifications

  • No less than 5 years’ experience supporting Navy Shipbuilding programs
  • No less than 10 years’ experience directly supporting NAVSEA and/or SPAWAR programs
  • Security+ Certification
  • CCNA Certification
  • Windows Server Certification
  • Experience with Navy C4ISR Systems
  • Current SECRET Clearance adjudicated within past 5 years
