Engility is seeking a talented and experienced Spacecraft Command & Control Engineer to join our team in our Chantilly, VA office. The ideal candidate shall provide technical and programmatic support to the Government Program Office acquiring, delivering and operating Bus and Payload, Vehicle Unique Elements (VUE) associated with the Space-Ground interface for a cutting-edge technology demonstration satellite.


Other key responsibilities are:

  • Requirements development, execution planning, design validation, verification and integration of delivered VUE into the ground architecture.
  • Review formal CDRL deliveries and End Item packages, will participating in the buildup/integration of VUE subsystems, Test Readiness Reviews and the conduct of those activities.
  • Review test plans and procedures, participate in anomaly resolution and failure review boards as required, driving requirements verification and sell-off.
  • Planning and execution of on-orbit initialization and checkout activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering or similar discipline plus 15 years of experience is required.
  • Significant experience in satellite Command & Control hardware, software and CONOPS as well as the ability to translate Program CONOPs into executable requirement statements is essential. It requires the ability to work in a multi-organization, high visibility, schedule-driven environment.
  • An active TS/SCI with Poly is required.


Desired Qualifications

  • Significant level of travel is required at times during critical events (25 – 50%).
  • This program has a very lean Program Office staff so the ability to accommodate change, manage priorities and apply creative solutions is a plus.
