Engility is deploying a multidisciplinary team of experienced professionals to provide technical management and support services that will assist the Benefits, Appeals & Memorial Affairs (BAM) portfolio in delivering effective, consistent and timely project management execution throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).  Engility is seeking a Security Analyst. 

 

Duties to include:

  • Analyze and interpret governmental policies, directives, and instructions that impact VA’s Information Assurance program
  • Leverage existing or assist in developing new guidance that meets Federal guidelines including FISMA, NIST Special Publications, and OMB A-130 Appendix III.
  • Create, verify, and administer the relevant taxonomy of policy, procedures, and directives.      
  • Utilize NIST and VA standards for security controls and assessment criteria.
  • Assist VA ISO stakeholders and Information Security contractor personnel with responsibilities including documentation, policy compliance, and reviews.  
  • Assist in coordination of ATO tasks and track status/completion.
  • Support BAM risk and issue management for VA’s Accreditation and Authorization activities.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required. Note that 8 years of work experience may be substituted in lieu of undergraduate degree.
  • Proficient at  FIPS and SP guidance, particularly regarding the certification and accreditation of systems.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills and understanding of how to interact with multiple GS levels within the federal government (e.g. GS 9 - 13s and above)
  • Excellent attention to detail and developing quality deliverables.
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate a high degree of organization in order to support multiple concurrent taskings.
  • Microsoft Office suite of tools and Microsoft SharePoint

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Healthcare and/or VA experience
  • Assessment & Authorization experience, mostly policy and procedures
  • Previous NIST experience preferred
