Description

 

Engility is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to support the TBFM Program Management Office, located at FAA Headquarters in Washington, DC. The candidate will provide engineering and support services to the TBFM Program Office.  The candidate will directly assist the FAA customer during the operational implementation of current and future TBFM work packages. Tasking for the successful candidate will include:

 

  • Applying analytical techniques in gathering data to solve complex technical problems (e.g., requirements definition, operations research, modeling),
  • Analysis of complex problems, definition of functional requirements, operations research, modeling, process analysis and design, developing and providing training materials.
  • Participation in program requirements development, analysis, and tracking.
  • Assisting investment planning and analysis and contract development for new TBFM initiatives.
  • Researching and composing programmatic documentation, including program reports, procedures, and reviews.
  • Working closely with customers and support contractors in the development and implementation of TBFM initiatives using principles of systems engineering.
  • Updating and maintaining FAA information systems such as the Knowledge Sharing Network (KSN).

Further responsibilities may be added congruent with the candidate’s education, experience, and demonstrated abilities. To successfully execute this tasking, the ideal candidate will possess the following traits:

 

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as functioning as a member of a team.
  • Ability to form a close working relationship with customers and co-workers.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Government contract support, particularly FAA support.
  • Proven skill in seizing initiative and exploiting growth opportunities.
  • Flexibility in addressing rapidly shifting goals and objectives.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • A Master of Science in engineering with 2 years of experience, or a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering with 5 years of experience, or an Associate in Applied Science degree in engineering with 10 years of experience, or 15 years of experience is required. The degree may be in any engineering discipline (i.e. Electrical, Civil, Computer Science, Industrial, and Aeronautical) or a related field such as mathematics.
  • Must be able to conduct data gathering, analysis, and reporting with little to no supervision.  
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with colleagues with varying levels of technical expertise.  
  • Must have experience using Microsoft Office tool suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project and Visio) tools.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation for a position of Public Trust.

 

Desired Qualifications

 

  • Experience and familiarity with FAA or DOT programs and system security policies is desirable.
  • Familiarity with the FAA’s NAS Enterprise Architecture is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the Knowledge Sharing Network (KSN).
  • Familiarity with CDRL management is preferred.
