Engility is seeking a Senior Space Control Operations Research Analyst to provide enterprise architecture and Modeling, Simulation & Analysis (MS&A) support to Headquarters Air Force Space Command (HQ AFSPC) at Peterson AFB, CO.   This position resides full-time at the Engility facility.


Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Develop Modeling & Simulation (M&S) study plans, organize and facilitate M&S analysis and process, assess M&S intermediate and final results, and produce final M&S products for the Space Protection and Space Control mission areas
  • Support Space Control enterprise analysis efforts (e.g., Analyses of Alternatives, effectiveness analysis, and cost analysis) to define needed future capabilities and supporting infrastructure for enterprise architecture development
  • Analyze Space Control capability gaps, requirements definitions, capabilities documents, and acquisition roadmaps. Review policy, strategies, doctrine, law, regulations, and authoritative CONOPS. Work with M&S team to define analysis requirements and plans (e.g., develop the Design of Experiments)
  • Analyze M&S data to identify trends, identify and assess key parameters, determine and assess results, and develop supporting documentation (e.g., briefings, databases, spreadsheets)
  • Provide technical expertise to complete Modeling & Simulation development and assist in mission modeling development to include model verification and validation activities.
  • Work with AFSPC A-staff and MS&A team to ensure areas of concern are covered by requirements and planning/programming

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in operations research, mathematics, or engineering, with 14+ yrs experience
  • Strong understanding of M&S and comparative analysis
  • Ability to manipulate and maintain large and complex databases
  • Five years of experience in at least two of the following areas:
    • Space Control mission area
    • MAJCOM-level studies and analysis
    • JCIDS, Space Operations, acquisition, or long-range planning product development

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, preferably in operations research, mathematics, or engineering, with 12+ yrs experience
  • Proactive, self-starting, independent, flexible individual with excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to be productive with little supervision
  • AFSPC A-staff support experience
  • Experience supporting greater national security space community
  • Expert knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of critical command plans and programs for participating in or conducting major operations such as Space Situational Awareness & Command and Control; Space Protection and associated mission and flight operations, tactical space life, deployment, mobilization, exercise, training systems, foreign military sales, Planning, Programming, & Budgeting System (PPBE) acquisition, special operations, or similar operations.
