The Engineering Technician will support Navy Weapons  Systems Test and Evaluation efforts by:


  • Setting-up and monitoring target positioning equipment - which are on very large temporary/mobile structures
  • Preparing Styrofoam column supports and low-RCS pylon supports
  • Operating equipment such as bridge crane, fork, bistatic arch, platform, and boom lift
  • Setting-up and manipulating equipment to include radars, microwave sources and receivers, mixers, attenuators, antennas, waveguides, positioner controllers, TV monitoring systems, and data acquisition equipment. You may have to climb structures or work in the boom basket, on scaffolding or while suspended in mid-air to install sensors on the target.

The Technician will also  participate in Pre-test planning and post-test analysis /operations

  • Shall diagnose failures, and repair equipment.   This equipment includes radar receiver, target positioner, calibration devices, bistatic arch structure, “sting” target support mount, and portable RF measurement systems.  
  • Shall provide a Test Report of all tests performed describing test results relative to planned objectives. This will describe tests to be performed, format instructions, test schedules, and task due dates will be specified.

Additional Duties: 

  • Maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Use of special equipment and techniques for target handling and positioning
  • Work as in team lifting Vehicles thirty feet in the air and securing to foam
  • Operation of standard laboratory light equipment (drill press, soldering devices, electronic test equipment)
  • Specialized Vehicle Rigging
  • Computer Data Input
  • Fabrication of Custom Foam Saddles and Supporting Foam Structures
  • Anechoic Chamber set-up and maintenance

Required Qualifications

  • Possess minimum a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • At least 3 years of practical experience to include laboratory testing, manufacturing or maintenance.
  • Experience with the operation of standard laboratory light equipment (drill press, soldering devices, electronic test equipment).
  • AS or AA degree in a relevant Technical Discipline. An additional two years of experience may be substituted for the degree

Desired Qualifications

  • License to operate Electrical and Internal Combustible Forklifts up to 20K
  • License to operate 60 ft. ARTIC AWP Boom, 60 ft. STR Supported , AWP Self- elevating, All Propelled and All Scissor Lift
  • Certified General Crane and Category III Crane Operator.
