Engility is seeking an entry level Systems Engineer for a Ground Software Acquisition System Engineering Technical Analyst (SETA) support position. This position will be a part of a highly diversified team that supports Ground Intelligence acquisitions that provide cutting-edge capabilities to the intelligence community.


This position is focused on growing mission knowledge and understanding to over time become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Project SETA. A Project SETA provides technical leadership and oversight daily with development contractors, other Government program office personnel and Government Customers on systems engineering and acquisition functions pertaining to the Ground System Acquisition.


You will assist with:

  • Developing and maintaining acquisition level requirements
  • Developing Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) and architecture products to ensure the requirements meet the vision of the system within the Ground Architecture
  • Reviewing contractor validation and verification plans to demonstrate requirements have been satisfied
  • Monitoring acquisition testing events/milestones 

Required Qualifications

  • Must possess a TS/SCI or be able to successfully attain one. Must also have a polygraph or be able to successfully attain one. 
  • Must be a December 2017 or Spring 2018 graduate
  • BS in Engineering, Math, Computer Science or related technical discipline or 5 years of related military experience
  • Self-starter with ability to create guidance and plans based on limited guidance/information
  • Responsible and Dependable – Must be able to meet deadlines
  • Team Work – Work well within a diverse team
  • Ability to distill complex problems into digestible structures/formats
  • Strong problem solving skills - Creative thinking; formulation of ideas/strategies to react to a variety of existing and emerging acquisition complexities and Customer Priorities
  • Flexibility and Time Management - Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment with constantly shifting priorities and needs
  • Effective Communicator - convey information to multiple audiences across all levels of Customer and Corporate management
  • Proficiency in using Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Desired Qualifications

  • Cloud and software development experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project
  • Proficiency in Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)
  • Space, mission management and/or mission processing domain knowledge
  • Project Management/Project Engineering experience
  • Agile software development experience
