Description

Engility is looking for an expert in Ground Systems Software and Mission Planning to support a critical customer program. This position is vital to the success of the program and provides tremendous opportunity for technical leadership as a contractor.  Position duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Work as a Subject Matter Expert as part of a world class Technical Services team. 
  • Provide mission critical support to a fascinating technical capability throughout all phases of the program. 
  • Develop and test complex ground mission planning software and auto routing systems. 
  • Evaluate system performance against key development parameters. 
  • Perform system flight tests, record and analyze test data, and provide test results and feedback to development team. 
  • Develop optimal routing algorithms to most effectively accomplish mission objectives. 
  • Oversee ground software requirement decomposition, coding, and testing. 
  • Track development progress, document deficiencies and recommend corrective actions. 
  • Review system requirements and designs. Perform analysis of targeting systems. 
  • Conduct tests and analyze data to assess performance. 
  • Develop accuracy requirements for payload and ground processing subsystems.
  • Develop accuracy assessments and recommend improvement techniques. 
  • Study and research performance capabilities and limitations of the system.
  • Provide actionable recommendations during operational debriefs and planning sessions.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree and 15 years of relevant experience OR a Master's Degree and 12 years of relevant experience with mission planning systems, auto routers and flight testing.
  • In-depth understanding of mission planning software and auto routing systems 
  • Demonstrated experience in developmental and operational flight testing
  • Demonstrated experience in all phases of algorithm and software development
  • In-depth understanding of targeting systems, payload requirements, and accuracy assessments
  • Experience as an combat pilot
  • Ability to quickly identify and respond to anomalous system behavior
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in high-pressure environments
  • Experience authoring technical documentation and training materials
  • Working proficiency using MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook, Project, etc.) Minimum
