  • You will provides specialized systems engineering, pre-acquisition, and intelligence support to the National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG) members and also supports NGA and the NSG through support providing a variable fidelity modeling, simulation and analysis capability to address a broad range of enterprise level issues confronting NGA. This capability permits the evaluation of concept, architecture, and policy (i.e., CONOPS or doctrine) decision alternatives within the context of the end-to-end tasking, collection, processing, and exploitation and dissemination framework for providing imagery and geospatial information support. The modeling and simulation environment provides the capability to characterize and analyze the tasking, collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination components of the NSG. This position will serve as a modeling & simulation analyst in the NGA GEOINT Enterprise Office, Frontiers Division. The Modeling & Simulation Branch leads and collaborates in modeling & simulation activities that influence strategic decisions in NGA, the NSG, DoD, IC, and executive and legislative oversight entities. The analyst shall provide the following in support of this task:
  • Perform data collection and preparation, model formulation and set-up, system test and validation, execution of production runs or other model experimentation, and analyses of the model output, and calibration and validation of OGMFM models.
  • Provide technical support to OGMF in execution of the Modeling and Simulation Strategic Implementation Plan
  • Build and update models and analysis tools within standard modeling software environments such as ExtendSim or MATLAB
  • Update, manage, and execute the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG) Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (PED) model and Future Capabilities Process (FCP) methodolody.
  • Evaluate concepts, systems architectures, and policy decisions within the context of GEOINT business processes
  • Build, manage, test, and update models
  • Perform statistical analysis on model output
  • Analyzie alternatives to optimize performance and improve understanding of systems architectures and components
  • Research current and future system architectures for studies & analysis
  • Prepare deliverables that include collection and volumetrics data, gap analyses, utilization analyses, statistical and forecasting analyses, presentations, and written reports and recommendations

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI security clearance and be willing to take and pass a polygraph.
  • Minimum of 12 years of general experience, 8 of which need to be relevant to the job description. 
  • Knowledge of computer programming
  • Strong understanding of modeling & simulation and comparative analysis
  • Familiarity with modeling & simulation tools, especially ExtendSim or MATLAB
  • Requires a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Access and Excel (including the use of pivot tables)
  • Familiarity with intelligence organizations, disciplines, systems, and processes
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to manipulate and maintain large and complex databases
  • Communication skills to support written deliverables, group discussion, and oral presentations
  • Knowledge of applied statistics
  • Demonstrated understanding of the geospatial intelligence mission and its contributions to the IC
  • Familiarity with NGA dissemination and storage systems
