Engility is currently seeking an IT Systems Engineer to support an Intelligence Community customer.  Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Primary duty: Building, configuring and deploying Virtual Machines (VM)
  • Configuring network storage and operating/maintaining Cisco switches
  • Suggesting and providing IT solutions to business and management problems
  • Installing, supporting, and maintaining new server hardware and software infrastructure
  • Managing email, anti-spam and virus protection
  • Setting-up user accounts, permissions and passwords
  • Monitoring network usage
  • Ensuring the most cost-effective and efficient use of servers
  • Ensuring that all IT equipment complies with industry and Information Assurance standards
  • Analyzing and resolving faults
  • Establishing networking environment by designing system configuration; performing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards
  • Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; architecting network optimization
  • Securing network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access
  • Undertaking routine preventative measures and implementing, maintaining, and monitoring network security
  • Providing training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence
  • Supervising other staff
  • Working closely with other departments/organizations and collaborating with other IT staff
  • Planning and implementing future IT developments and undertaking project work
  • Keeping internal networks running
  • Monitoring the use of the web by employees
  • Accomplishing organizational mission by completing related results as needed
  • Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience working as an IT Engineer or System Engineer or System Administrator 
  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI clearance with a willingness to take a CI Polygraph examination
  • Security+ Certification
  • DoD 8570 qualification
  • Working knowledge of VMware environment is paramount, as evidenced by VMware experience or VCP5-DCV certification

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • ISC2 CISSP (or Associate) Certification
  • Cisco CCNA Certification
  • Familiarity with NetApp Fabric Attached Storage (FAS) administration
  • Familiarity with Cisco NX-OS
