Engility Corporation is seeking a Sr. Java Developer for an immediate position on a growing program in Indian Head, MD to support the Naval Surface Warfare Centers contract. You would be supporting Department of Defense EOD technicians whom are deployed worldwide and are tasked with neutralizing unexploded ordnance of any kind: conventional, unconventional, improvised, chemical, biological or nuclear. Whether it is by reverse engineering existing ordnance and creating the procedures to make them safe, or spearheading the development of tools and technologies to counter emerging threats, we are focused on exploiting technology and intelligence to develop and deliver tools and equipment, and their life cycle support to the joint service EOD operating forces and other customers. Duties include (but are not limited to):
The successful candidate will research, design, develop, and/or modify enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.
At least 5+ years of total Software Development experience, at least 3+ years of recent solid Java experience.
Applicants selected for this position will require an interim DoD secret clearance and background screening - must be a US Citizen to qualify.
Applicants selected for a security clearance will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirement for access to classified information.
Expert in Java technologies-SWING, RCP, JSP, EJB
Experience using Java development tools such as Eclipse, Ant etc.
Proficient with Apache Tomca
Solid understanding of Object Oriented Principals and concept
Working knowledge of web application development using current MVC frameworks (Spring, STRUTS, SEAM, etc.)
Knowledge of Oracle, SQL development and TOAD
Knowledge of version and revision control practices and procedures (SVN preferred)
Understanding of design patterns and their applications
Will provide technology leadership for application development
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with the client
Proven multitasking skills; required to be a hands-on developer
Mentor and develop existing team members.
